Adventure playgrounds are public spaces for children that encourage managed risks and challenge the notion that child play needs to be perfectly safe and free from all potential harm. One community in North Wales gets us thinking about the nature and purpose of play as it gives children permission to play with the things that are available to them in a space that resembles a junk yard as much as a playground.
