Meet Maia. At only 7 years old, this incredible young artist is using her talents for painting to give back to children in need. Maia’s mother noticed her daughter’s artistic gift when she was only 2 years old, and says it really began to take shape when she turned 5. Maia’s art teacher describes her as exceptionally focused, and the only student who will work for one or two hours to finish a painting. Inspired by her grandmother’s work with Daystar, a pediatric respite/care facility for children with various special needs, Maia wanted to find a way to help support their mission, and began selling her artwork on postcards to raise money for the facility. “She has a very genuine nature, that is always wanting to help others,” says Maia’s mother.
