Jess Markt lives in two worlds - his home in Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, and in conflict zones around the world, coaching wheelchair basketball. What started as a one-time call that he thought could make a small difference in the lives of disabled Afghani men, has turned into a life's work. “There’s no question that the most gratifying thing about this whole process has been getting to watch the players grow year to year. Each time I go back, they have a different way of seeing themselves." And the growth and change in the personalities of the women that are playing has been twice that of the men.
