The United States incarcerates more people than any other country in the world, which also means that the U.S. incarcerates more parents than any other country in the world. There is a growing recognition of the emotional, social and economic costs for the 1 in 28 children who have a parent in prison, with some states making efforts to make visitation and contact for parents and children easier. "Echoes of Incarceration" is a documentary project produced by youth of incarcerated parents to teach others how to tell stories of the hidden victims of society.
