A film by the Contemplative Alliance. More at Global Peace Initiative of Women.

"Our heart knows what our mind has forgotten - it knows the sacred that is within all that exists, and through a depth of feeling we can once again experience this connection, this belonging." ~Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee. What does it mean to live from the heart? According to Dena Merriam, founding member of the Contemplative Alliance, it means living with a fuller appreciation of what it means to be a human being on this earth. The wisdom of the heart shows us our connection to the whole. If we move from a consciousness of just thinking about ourselves first, to one of the well-being of the whole, things will evolve naturally into a much more caring, loving, and sustainable society. Listen to Dena and other leaders from different spiritual practices share their thoughts on how we can live from the heart.

I found it very moving. The feeling of all people as one community makes a great deal of sense and the music and visions of nature reminded me of how beautiful this world is that we are fortunate enough to enjoy.

This summarises and crystallises what I have been unable to articulate as a pursuer of truth, justice and fair play. I have resorted to forums and comments on articles and have always felt that my impact is quite limited. This video states things so clearly and should be compulsory viewing for everyone...take 15 minutes off for a better world. ls it too much to ask? Do we have to be pushed along this path by a catastrophe? I feel grateful for having seen this video.

Dawn, my thoughts exactly. Recently I try to do more, be more, always rushing and not stopping to listen for the silence. That's when our hearts speak/feel. This video found me today and I'm so grateful for that ^ ^

Over the last few days I have been asking my highest guidance/higher self why I feel so detached and I asked how I centre myself in my heart.. and your video found me. Whilst watching it I felt centred, without the need to hurry on and do something else(lately I have often felt so rushed). The energy emitted from the people involved and their words was both inclusive and connected. Thank you.

I felt very peaceful while listening to this video. I experienced a sense of detachment from everything else except the opening of my heart center. I like contemplative practice, it is the praxis of my life.

The video was peaceful and hopeful. I felt my breathing slow down and become slower just watching and listening. I was reminded my contemplative practices -- meditation, Scripture reading, prayer, yoga -- often fall aside when I am "busy" and this is when I need them the most. They are what bring me true peace so that I can then share that peace with others. The reminder of "community" was also well stated. We began by building community and it has been falling apart in the modern age. I found myself asking, "What can I do to change this?". I felt hopeful after viewing this. Finally, I listened with ear phones and felt the blend of music and voice was just right. Thank you!

Watching this video completely turned around my day... thanks for sharing!

Here's to being in the heart more and sharing it. Arise compassion. And here's to sharing the heart in so many different ways. Singing, dancing, music to unify and transform. Understanding is everything, listen with the heart.

    Truth. Consciousness.

I agree with Sophia. It is a musical performance with spoken words in the background. A bad edit job.

  • Michael

The gentleness and joy of the people in it.

The inspiration is not allowed to flow because the music is to hard, fast and loud. It is incomprehensible that this was allowed to happen. I do not want to see the film if I am endlessly trying to hear the people speak with the music blaring over their words. It is loud and distracting.
