A few folks at Improv Everywhere constructed a custom wooden lectern with a megaphone holster and an attached sign that read: "Say Something Nice." The lectern was placed in public spaces around New York and then left alone. What would happen when passerbys were given the opportunity to amplify their voices to "say something nice"? Watch and find out. :)

It is so pleasing to see people being kind. I was smiling the whole time! My favorite(and, perhaps, most original) was the "Happy Birthday". Oh and the girl who threw out the compliment to the lady with the blue umbrella! I'd love to see more of this in different cities!

There is hope for us humans

Positive thinking regenerates and gives hope. What is wonderful is that people are really capable of doing a lot of good and always want to share a good thought. New York suffered a great loss on 911 but it created a new feeling of solidarity.
