Why does our society believe it is alright to throw away so much? In fact, what does it even mean to throw something 'away'? Julia reflects on these questions to help each of us understand why it is important for us to change our approach to consumption as individuals and as a society.

Powerful, educational, provocative. This video has deeply impacted my commitment to making change in my own community. I have been picking up trash at my local beach every day that I go. I simply go about my business and every time I encounter others who ask what I'm doing, thank me, and tell me I've inspired them to do the same. ONE person makes trash and it has impact. Likewise, ONE person cleaning up a common area can also make a difference. Consume less, collect trash, recycle all that you can and we will all contribute in meaninful ways to sustainability! Thx for the massive inspiration Julia!

Now she is what I call a hero, an inspiration. It is through changing our culture and making things conscious that we can change dramatically within a generation. We have to unlearn that consumer/throw-away culture, media-programmed unconscious and spoonfed since birth to save our finite and beautiful planet. Thank you Julia!
