Claire Fitzpatrick is a typical 7-month old - she can sit up on her own, eat solid food, and is developed a bit of a mischievous streak. Claire hasn't had any formal pedagogical training, but she is a teacher at the Forest Lake Park Elementary School. To the group that put her and her mother in the classroom, Claire has everything she needs to help teach children an unconventional subject. A Canadian nonprofit group, Roots of Empathy, is now expanding a decade-old program designed teach social and emotional learning and to reduce bullying by exposing classrooms to "empathy babies" for a whole school year.
