Legendary college basketball coach John Wooden talks about success: what it is, and what it isn't. He made his mark by producing a string of college champions, but he says his father always taught him never to try to be better than someone else. Rather, Wooden says, he learned to see "success" as simply a state of self satisfaction that comes from the peace of mind of knowing you did your best. Competition, it seems, is strictly an internal matter.
